Anti-corrosion wood is wood with outstanding anti-corrosion properties, suitable for balconies, courtyards, gardens, and other environments. However, preservative wood is not a commonly used wood, and most consumers do not understand it, so it is easy to buy inferior products when purchasing.

In terms of material selection for balconies and gardens, anti-corrosion wood plastic composite decking is increasingly becoming the choice of the public, because it can withstand the wet and harsh environment on the one hand, and on the other hand, it maintains the natural beauty of wood. The balcony gardens built with it are both beautiful and durable.

  1. Introduction of preservative wood

Preservative wood is made by artificially adding chemical preservatives to ordinary wood to make it anti-corrosion, moisture-proof, anti-fungal, anti-insect, anti-mildew, and waterproof. There are two main materials of common preservative wood in China: Russian sycamore pine and Nordic red pine. It can directly contact the soil and humid environment and is often used in outdoor floors, engineering, landscape, anti-corrosion wood flower stands, etc., for people to rest and enjoy the natural beauty. It is an ideal material for outdoor floors, garden landscapes, wooden swings, entertainment facilities, wooden planks, etc., favored by horticultural designers, but with the development of science and technology, preservative wood has been very environmentally friendly, so it is often used in interior decoration, flooring, and furniture, interior decoration designers also like preservative wood very much. There is also a preservative wood without preservatives - deep carbonized wood, also known as heat-treated wood. Carbonized wood is to carbonize the effective nutrients of wood, and achieves the purpose of anti-corrosion by cutting off the nutrient chain for the survival of decay bacteria.

  2. Types of preservative wood

  1) Russian sylvestris pine

  2) Nordic red pine

  3) Western Red Cedar

  4) Ponderosa Pine (Southern Pine)

  5) Hemlock

  6) Carbonized wood

  7) Meringue wood

  8) Finnish wood

Nowadays, the market is more popular, and the more commonly used preservative wood is basically Russian pine as the mainstream, and southern pine and red pine are also used more. There are differences in the density and hardness of wood materials due to different origins. In fact, there are many slogans on the market that are advertised as southern pine, but they are actually better quality pine.

In the end, it depends on our needs. If the economy permits, we can consider wood with relatively high hardness such as pineapple lattice and camphor wood, but these two kinds of wood are actually non-preservative and have no preservative effect.
